At InterviewPrep, a range of courses are available to cater for your every need.  The three most popular are the Mock Interview, Introduction to the Interviewing Process and the Competency based Interviews for the Civil Service and Public Service courses.

While these three courses cover a broad spectrum, not everybody will require this level of detail.  Therefore, if you have an interest in any specific aspect of the interview process, contact me and I will discuss your personal requirements.

In the public sector, there are specialist areas such as Garda, Nurse and Prison Officer recruitment. I arrange specific courses for these positions.

Mock Interview

(for both traditional and competency based interviews)

Step1: Send your application form/CV and Job Description to InterviewPrep (around one week before the mock interview).

Step 2: The mock interview – usually 30/40 minutes long but this may vary depending on the position being applied for.  The structure of questioning will depend on whether it is a traditional or competency based interview, and also on the type of position being applied for.

Step 3: Detailed feedback given on the performance at the mock interview.  This will highlight the strengths and weaknesses displayed, and how to address the weaknesses.  It will also set out a plan in advance of the actual interview.

Step 4: A comprehensive report will be sent to the client within 48 hours summarising the mock interview and feedback discussion.

Step 5: Follow-up phone call or video call within two weeks in which any further queries or guidance can be discussed.

(ideal for clients completing second and third level education or for those people who have yet to decide where their career will take them)

Competency based interviews for Civil Service and Public Service

(This may be for initial entry to the Civil Service or Public Service, for an internal promotion competition or for an inter-departmental promotion competition.  Garda, Nurse and Prison Officer recruitment is also catered for)

Step1: Send your completed application form and information booklet for the relevant competition to InterviewPrep (around one week before the mock interview).
Step 2: The mock interview – usually about 30/40 minutes long.
Step 3: Detailed feedback given on the performance at the mock interview.  This will link the examples given at the interview to the competencies being examined, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses displayed, and setting out a plan in advance of the actual interview.
Step 4: A comprehensive report sent to the client within 48 hours summarising the mock interview and feedback discussion.
Step 5: Follow-up phone call or video call within two weeks in which any further queries or guidance can be discussed.
